Turns out when you try to train in honor in service members some of them take that shit to heart.

    2. Not American, but isn’t this consistent with American military tradition? Not to applaud any overly political statements from any party?

We will have the talking heads explaining how this is disrespectful and grounds for being relieved of duty.

They’re still going to follow orders and if they don’t, they’ll be out in favor of people who will. The people who keep them in check were fired early this year.

    5. In the military if you do not like your Commanding Officer, just wait 2 years and they will change. The Generals have been through many administrations; Hegseth is not something special and he will soon be gone. They will still be around either in Military aspects or political ambitions and probably don’t want public stink (even if they endorse it) to follow them.

    6. SEMPER FI, fuck Trump. The oath is sworn for the country and it’s people, not some wannabe 80 year old dictator.

    7. So I am not knowledgeable at all about the military and especially such high-ranking people. Do they normally clap and cheer at speeches?

    8. Also, let’s applaud our National Guard military leaders as well. They know that Trump is using the Guard as a tool to create civil unrest and anxiety. Instead of being willing participants they decided to pick up trash the communities they were tasked with ‘securing’ which greatly reduced tensions and helped maintain the view that the US military isn’t bending to Trump.

Who would have thought that all those hours of picking up cigarette butts and liter was some form of Mr. Miyagi training that would ultimately be used to defend democracy from tyranny.

    9. This speech was mainly to call them all fatties. I can’t believe he spent so much time talking about physical appearance as if that’s the only qualifier for a good serviceman.

It’s crazy how he’s the ‘secretary of war’ but almost every single person in the audience of that madness-riddled propaganda rant would be more qualified to lead that department. The U.S. really is just a joke

    11. What those fuckers do next is what really matters. Which of the brass is going to say “No!” when asked to roll on american cities?

    12. You don’t applaud or clap to a superior in the military that’s giving you a briefing/order. Gee, soldier go clean the shitters, yes sir 👏👏👏

    13. He also jumped from Major to SecDef just because he talked on TV with a face of full makeup every weekday and Trump liked him.

You’ve got to think the men and women who have devoted their lives to military service to reach the rank of general absolutely despise this piece of shit from jumping over all of them and becoming the leader of the military just because Trump liked duh man from duh tv.

Not one clap. There are surely conservative generals in there who like Trump. But every one of them hates Hegseth.

Trump, president bone spurs that did everything to avoid going to Vietnam, who has said soldiers were suckers and losers, and that he didn’t prisoners of war serving as president suddenly thinks that the military should worship him? Oh, by the way trump raped kids. Such a corrupt administration.

    15. That gives me *some* hope. You need the absolute loyalty of the military if you’re gonna go full dictator.

    16. In the five minutes I watched, the president called the opposing party the enemy and claimed our cities were on fire. Very improper improper for him to be so partisan in front of the army. This was a televised campaign rally paid for by your tax dollars.

These generals are senior federal employees. After all this DOGE nonsense, I’m shocked this administration doesn’t realize why they aren’t enthusiastic about an administration that is messing around with their long term career and financial security.

In the early 90s I was a junior NCO communications soldier on a rotation at JRTC. In the evening I often spoke about politics and world events with a the CO. We disagreed about almost everything except for the fact that what made our country great was the fact that an enlisted soldier could disagree with his CO on politics and social issues was what made our country great.

      This timeline SUCKS

Malcolm Nance has never lied. If you don’t know about him, you might want to look him up.

    20. Pete Kegsbreath (I wish I’d coined that) is a piece of shit. I don’t really have anything else to say, just that.

    21. I watched the AP live stream. They definitely did some clapping after each one spoke. It wasn’t a thunderous applause by any means. But there was definitely some.

    22. There was some clapping at he end- not everyday do you get to watch someone with aphasia do public speaking. He reads the teleprompter like he histrionically fondles flags.

    23. Senior leadership in the military is so key right now. I’d hoped to see some refusal of orders or loud resignations by now.The military I knew in the late 80s early 90s wouldn’t suffer this crap quietly.

    24. Military doesn’t cheer or clap anyway for any “speeches”. This isn’t anything and doesn’t show anything,
